Brief itinerary of the Tour Romania Bulgaria with the Rose Festival Kazanlak 2024:

Day 1 – 26.05 – Arrive at the Sofia airport. Transfer to your hotel.

Day 2 – 27.05 – One Day Tour to the Rila monastery. Return to Sofia

Day 3 – 28.05 – Sofia – Bucharest

Day 4 – 29.05 – Bucharest – Brasov

Day 5 – 30.05 – Brasov

Day 6 – 31.05 – Brasov – Veliko Tarnovo – Kazanlak

Day 7 – 01.06 – Kazanlak

Day 8 – 02.06 – Kazanlak – Plovdiv

Day 9 – 03.06 – Plovdiv – Transfer to the Sofia airport. End of service.

DAY BY DAY ITINERARY of the Tour Romania Bulgaria with the Rose Festival Kazanlak 2024

Day 1 – May 26 – Sofia –  Arrive at the Sofia airport. Transfer to your hotel. Reminder of the day time oat leisure to discover the central part of Sofia on your own.

Accommodation in hotel Premier Thracia **** (two overnights)

Day 2 – May 27  – Sofia – The Rila Monastery – Sofia

Departure to the Rila Monastery – the richest historical and architectural monument of the Orthodox enclave, founded in 10th century and transformed to the most important spiritual and cultural center of Bulgaria. The visitor’s first sight of Rila monastery huge towering walls gives the impression of a fortress. However, a step through the archway produces a wonderful surprise. The Monastery’s unrivalled architecture and murals will captivate you. Return to Sofia. Take a short tour of the capital including the St Aleksander Nevski Cathedral, the National Theater, the ruins of Roman Serdica. Overnight.

Day 3 – May 28 – Transfer to the Sofia airport for your departure flight to Bucharest.

Arrive at the Bucharest airport. Meet and greet by your English speaking tour guide. Take a morning  city tour with the main highlights in Bucharest including the  Arch of Triumph, the Revolution Square, Cotroceni Quarter and a guided tour of the Parliament. Transfer to the hotel with the remainder of the day at leisure.

OPTIONAL: In the evening enjoy a Welcome Dinner and a Folklore Show.

Day 4 – May 29 – Bucharest  Sinaia & Peles Castle –  Bran Castle  – Brasov

Leave Bucharest for Sinaia – one of the famous Carpathian Mountains town. Named after St. Catherine Monastery on Mount Sinai, Sinaia became the unofficial capital of the Kingdom of Romania toward the end of the 19th century. Next is one of the most important tourist attractions of the country:  Peles Castle and Gardens , the former royal residence of King Charles I of Romania and known as one of the most beautiful summer royal residences in Europe. Then cross the mountains into Transylvania to the village of Bran. The attraction here is the medieval Bran Castle also known as Dracula Castle. The castle was built in 1377 to safeguard the trading route between Transylvania and Wallachia to later be turned into a royal residence under Queen Marie of Romania. The connection between this place and Vlad the Impaler Dracula is still under debate, but the castle is definitely worth a visit. Enjoy cheese sampling on the premises. Continue to the nearby town of  Brasov. Hotel check in. The evening  is at leisure. Enjoy Brasov’s lovely pedestrian area of the Old Town with its many shops, traditional restaurants and outdoor cafes.

B Accommodation in Brasov at hotel Casa Wagner *** or House with Antler ***

Day 5 – May 30 – Brasov  –  Saxon Villages & Viscri – Biertan – Brasov

Hot and cold buffet breakfast at hotel. Take a morning tour of Brasov with a view of the Gothic Black Church with its valuable collection of Anatolian prayer rugs. Brasov has one of the best preserved medieval quarter and fortifications. The tour will include the Council Square, Schei Quarter and the First School in Romanian language, the Rope Street and Catherine’s Gate. Leave Brasov in the morning. Drive through the picturesque Transylvanian Plateau with its quaint villages and Saxon fortifications such as Viscri. Take a guided tour of the village and visit the fortified church.  Early afternoon arrival to Sighisoara, a World Heritage Site and the only still inhabited medieval citadel in Europe. It was developed by the German settlers as of late 12th century. It stands on a network of tunnels and catacombs and, according to one version of the myth; this is where the Pied Piper brought the children of Hamelin after their ungrateful parents refused to pay him his due. Sighisoara is the place where the famous Vlad the Impaler Dracula was born in 1431. The Birthplace is today a restaurant and one of the main tourist attractions. Take a walking tour  of Sighisoara includes the two squares of the Citadel (Upper Town), the Scholars’ Staircase, the Ducklings’ Square, the Tinsmiths’ Tower, the House with Antler and the Venetian House, the Tower with Clock (climb up for a great view), the Torture Chamber and the Weapon Museum. Depart Sighisoara on the way to the impressive Biertan fortification and a UNESCO World Heritage. As the former Seat of the Lutheran Bishops between 1516 and 1867, this place is proof of the important Heritage of the Transylvanian Saxons.  Return to the base in Brasov.

Day 6 – May 31 – Brasov – Veliko Tarnovo – Kazanlak

Hot and cold buffet breakfast at hotel. Early morning departure to the border with Bulgaria at Giurgiu where you change vehicles and guides and proceed into Bulgaria. Change the vehicles and guides at the Romanian-Bulgarian border and proceed to Veliko Tarnovo.

In Veliko Tarnovo have a short photo stop over at the Tsarevets fortress.

Continue to Kazanlak. At 6 pm admire the opening of the festival. At 9 pm enjoy a folklore concert on the main square. Evening at leisure to enjoy the festivities on the main square. Accommodation. Overnight.

Day 7 – Saturday – June 1

Experience rose picking in one of the villages in the vicinity of Kazanlak. Attend the exhibition of Bulgarian traditional breads and taste different types and flavors. In the afternoon take photo with the Queen Rose – elected on the previous day in a glamorous ceremony. Visit the Rose museum and the Giolyamata Kosmatka Thracian Tomb – the monument dates back to the 4th century BC. In the afternoon – visit a rose distillery where in a big steels before your eyes the petals will turn into a rose oil. Return to Kazanlak. At 5 :30 pm attend a folklore concert. Accommodation. Overnight.

Day 8 – Sunday – June 2

Day of festivities: Two main events mark the celebrations – harvesting ritual in the rose gardens and the parade along the streets of the town. After arriving in Kazanlak experience rose picking and enjoy beautiful authentic folklore dances. At noon follow the Carnival parade and the procession which will close the festivities.

Departure to Plovdiv. Sightseeing tour of Plovdiv – Plovdiv is the second largest town of Bulgaria, an area since the time of Philip, King of Macedonia, father of Alexander The Great. Its unique location on these ancient crossroads has stimulated cultural and political influences from East and West civilizations and yet maintained its unique cultural identity. The most impressive building of Roman time that has come to us rising above the city is the Antique Amphitheatre by Emperor Mark Avrelii during the 2nd c. A.D. Its magnificent arcade adorned with marble statues is simply breath-taking. The Roman Stadium is also constructed during the II century and reproduces the layout in Delphi, Greece. You will also visit the Roman Stadium dating to the 2nd cetury, the yellow school, the house of La Martin, the Old Pharmacie, the church St Constantin and Helena, the house of Kuyumdjioglu, today turned into museum, the Nebet tepe where have been discovered parts of the Thracian walls that fortified the hill.

Departure to Sofia in the early evening. Arrive in Sofia. Accommodation. Overnight.

Day 9 – Monday – June 3 – Transfer to the Sofia airpot. End of service of your Tour Romania Bulgaria with the Rose Festival Kazanlak 2024.

Confirmation

The travel arrangement and full-day or half-day tours will be officially booked once we have received a 30% deposit payment. After that you will receive a booking confirmation via e-mail. We kindly ask you to pay the balance not later than 7 days prior to your arrival, unless the booking is made 1 week prior to your arrival or if there is not an agreement for paying cash upon arrival.

Once we have received the payment, we will send the following to your e-mail address: the invoice, the voucher, and all the other necessary travel-related documents and information.

Cancellation Policy

Our cancellation policy for the Rose festival tours has the following special conditions :

Upon booking we require 40% of the price which is non refundable. This is because of the fact that the hotels in Kazanlak request 100% non-refundable prepayment upon booking.

The balance is due 21 days before arrival. 

Cancellations :

21 to 14 days prior to departure – 50 % of the balance

14 to 7 days prior to departure – 70 % of the balance

7 to 3 days prior to departure – 80 % of the balance

3 to 0 days prior to departure – 100 % of the balance

After the departure or no-show – 100 % of the balance

In cases of extraordinary circumstances, Easy Bulgaria Travel Ltd reserves the right to change itineraries. Easy Bulgaria Travel Ltd will certainly always try to meet customers’ requests and return all the funds that were not spent for the purpose of same travel arrangement or a tour.
